When to Call

If you or someone you know are experiencing unexpected symptoms or are feeling acutely unwell, it can be difficult to know who to call. This service is specifically for the after hours* period or for some people, like the elderly or those with pre-existing conditions, times when you might normally attend an Emergency Department but may not be able to in the current environment.

My Emergency Doctor is not a replacement for your GP or the ambulance service. If a patient is experiencing a time-critical emergency and/or is unconscious, has chest pain, difficulty breathing, uncontrolled bleeding or has been in a major accident, please dial 000 immediately.

Calls are funded through the Primary Health Network program and free to residents of western Victoria only for the after hours period.

*After Hours is defined as Monday - Friday: 6pm – 8am, Saturday: 12pm – 8am, Sunday and Public Holidays: 24hrs. Calls received outside of these times are subject to charges.
