Dr Farzad Jazayeri was born in Iran, where he studied a medical degree at Tehran University. He moved to Australia after he completed his degree and began working at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney as an emergency physician. Now working part-time at St Vincent’s, Dr Jazayeri is a devoted teacher and examiner at the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine.
Dr Jazayeri has leveraged his passion for emergency medicine by focusing on closing the gaps to vulnerable members of the community in his practise of medicine, as he firmly believes in providing ongoing care to those who need it most. In early 2020, Dr Jazayeri and the medical team at St Vincent’s Hospital established Flexi Clinic, a new initiative aimed to achieve better health outcomes to members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. He finds it highly rewarding to advocate for the equality of access to health care and is determined to continue his work in this field.He believes in being quick to devise practical plans for his patients in order to provide them with well-informed and trustworthy medical advice. His ability to relay his medical knowledge to students, patients in clinical care and via telehealth demonstrates how he finds educating others to be the most fulfilling role as an emergency specialist doctor.

Dr Andrew Dean is a passionate advocate for the benefits of telehealth in extending specialist emergency medical care to people who need our service, during stressful and critical times. He has been a practising emergency specialist doctor (FACEM) for nearly 30 years, working at St John of God Hospital Ballarat, in regional Victoria.
In 1984 Dr Dean completed his medical degree at the University of Melbourne, and moved to Ballarat Base Hospital to undertake post-graduate training. He worked briefly in general practice also, and achieved his Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine in 1992. Dr Dean has been involved with leadership in clinical, administrative and educational roles since then, and is actively involved teaching medical students in his Emergency Department whenever he works. His areas of interest include risk management, clinical simulation, team building in critical care areas, and personal resilience and well being when working in stressful healthcare environments. His passion for medicine extends into educating co-workers about a holistic approach to their practice of emergency medical care.
In 2017, Dr Andrew Dean published a book titled ‘Moving Light: Meditation Journeys’ which encourages the use of meditation on a daily basis to achieve inner mind and body balance. It is through his dedication to strengthening the inner self, that he has been able to combine his clinical skills with an intuitive awareness of the patient’s needs.

Dr Sue Ieraci studied a medical degree at the University of Sydney, graduating in 1983. She did her internship and most of her post-graduate training at St Vincents Hospital in Sydney, before achieving her Fellowship in Emergency Medicine at the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine in 1990. Her first consultant position was in Vancouver, Canada, before returning to continue her specialist career in Australia.
Dr Ieraci thoroughly enjoys conversing with people and throughout her medical career she has actively participated in writing and vocalising her passion for patient-centred care. She has contributed to the Textbook of Adult Emergency Medicine, 4th Edition (Jelinek ed.) and writes for The Medical Journal of Australia’s blog site, MJA Insight.
After 35 years in public hospital medicine, Dr Ieraci discovered telemedicine with My Emergency Doctor and hasn’t looked back. She is often commended on her ability to deconstruct complex medical knowledge and put it in context for patients to have them instantly understand. Her satisfaction in her role as a FACEM is reflected in the many meaningful conversations Dr Ieraci enjoys in her telemedicine work – from joking with jovial seniors to sharing frank end-of-life discussions with families, and supporting other clinicians in remote settings. Her wealth of experience is now distilled to provide a service she has endless curiosity and passion in delivering.

Dr Kimberly Booth studied a medical degree at UNSW. She went on to complete her Fellowship at the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine and was awarded the Buchanan prize for coming first in her final year clinical exams. Dr Booth began her career at hospitals located in Canberra (ACT), Albury (NSW), Tamworth (NSW) and Sydney. Her in-depth medical training enabled her to develop a diverse skill set as she received practice in areas of respiratory, psychiatric, neurology and surgical medicine.
Her greatest passion in medicine is helping her patients to seek a solution. In 2014, Kimberly and her husband, Dr Byron Booth, spent 6 months in Nepal to teach vital health and hygiene practices to doctors and to enable them a more structured approach when dealing with emergency situations. She has also worked in a maternity hospital in India, educating new mothers on fundamental models of care.
Today, Dr Kimberly Booth resides in Hobart with her husband and two children. She works part-time at The Royal Hobart Hospital and via telehealth with My Emergency Doctor. With her positive guidance and kind-hearted nature, Dr Kimberly Booth invariably leads her patients to achieve improved outcomes.

Dr Paoloni is the Chief Medical Advisor for My Emergency Doctor, coordinating the activities of the FACEMs employed by the company. He is an experienced senior emergency physician, Fellow of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) and an Associate Professor with the University of Sydney. Richard was Chair of the ACEM Workforce Subcommittee for eight years and a member of the ACEM Standards Committee. Previous roles include the NSW Faculty Chair of ACEM (4 years) and Director of Emergency Medicine at Concord Hospital (12 years). He has a strong interest in streamlining access to emergency care, developing and refining new models of care and promoting high quality service within emergency medicine consultations.

Dr Catherine Kizana was born in London, UK. She studied an undergraduate medical degree in Birmingham before moving countries to Sydney, Australia to complete her fellowship with the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine. For the four years following her accredited degree, Dr Kizana worked as a senior emergency specialist doctor at Blacktown Hospital, Sydney. Today, she enjoys juggling her life as a mum of a two year old and continuing her role as a senior emergency specialist doctor via telehealth.
My Emergency Doctor has allowed Dr Kizana to extend her caring nature to people when they are at their most vulnerable. Her greatest asset is her passion for communication. She approaches a medical assessment by carefully listening to her patients and taking the time to navigate a complete understanding of their symptoms. Additionally, she prides herself on uncomplicated delivery of medical reviews that leaves her patients feeling safe, reassured, and well looked after.

He is also the ACEM representative on the ultrasound group of the International Federation of Emergency Medicine, a Professor for the Ultrasound Leadership Academy, and Director of Emergency Ultrasound at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. A former member of the ACEM ultrasound subcommittee, Justin is also a published author (Emergency Ultrasound Made Easy, Bowra and McLaughlin, 2nd ed and Point of Care Ultrasound for Emergency Medicine and Resuscitation, 1st ed) and is also a Medical Advisor to Echonous Pty Ltd. His passions include telehealth, tele-education and ultrasound.

Dr Rebecca Zimmer is a Canadian-born emergency specialist doctor. She completed her medical training at the University of Calgary and went on to become a Fellow of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) in 2012. Dr Zimmer has a diverse range of experience having worked as a locum doctor in Australia and as a retrieval doctor for CareFlight, an aeromedical retrieval service.
One of her passions is medicine in the developing world. She has done a number of stints of time working in various regions of Africa. Today, Dr Zimmer works part time at a hospital in Hamburg, Germany as a medical consultant in a busy emergency department. Her natural ability in communicating with people from all walks of life makes patients feel comfortable in her care. Dr Zimmer prides herself on exercising empathy and good communication to determine what her patients need. -

Dr Adam Chan completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). After completing his internship in Sydney, he underwent training in general surgery in Hong Kong. On his return to Sydney, he changed his career pathway and undertook specialist training in emergency medicine which was a relatively new specialty at the time.
Dr Chan has been a practicing Emergency Medicine Specialist (FACEM) for more than 30 years. He was the Director of Emergency Medicine at St George Hospital (NSW) for 20 years and served as an examiner with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine for 25 years. He is also a Conjoint Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine at UNSW, and he continues to be actively involved in the education and training of medical students and young doctors.

Dr Marian Lee studied medicine at the University of Melbourne and proceeded to complete her medical training at Royal Melbourne Hospital. She then moved to Sydney where she studied pediatrics for a year, followed by training at Liverpool Hospital in NSW. In 1996, Dr Lee was accredited her Fellowship in emergency medicine at the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM). She has worked clinically in Emergency Medicine since attaining her specialist qualification and has been involved in all aspects of emergency medicine including management and education. She is also an actively involved in the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine.
Dr Lee is motivated to apply her clinical synthesis and management knowledge in order to evolve in her medical practice. She uses her natural ability as an effective problem-solver to undergo thorough medical assessments. Dr Lee also places high value on patient experience. She enjoys interacting with patients and they in turn, appreciate her kind, calm approach, that provides necessary assurance to best manage their health.

Bill Maiden is the Chief Executive Officer of My Emergency Doctor.
Prior to joining My Emergency Doctor, Bill was Group Chief Operating Officer of Everlight Radiology, a global teleradiology provider serving patients and hospitals across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Bill has 20 years of experience working in consulting, investment and executive roles across industries spanning healthcare, software, manufacturing, mining and energy. He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School.
Bill is passionate about building a culture of care that encompasses a holistic approach to wellness, whereby care delivery for patients starts with healthy, strong and connected teams and caregivers.

Justin is also a published author (Emergency Ultrasound Made Easy, Bowra and McLaughlin, 2nd ed and Point of Care Ultrasound for Emergency Medicine and Resuscitation, 1st ed) and is also a Medical Advisor to Echonous Pty Ltd. Phil Offer has held senior executive roles over twenty years in digital health and telco organisations. Prior to joining, he was CEO at George Health Technologies growing its chronic disease management system across Australia and Asia. Phil also led the turnaround of the Medical Director division at Healius Limited which resulted in a successful sale of the business. Before entering the digital health sector, Phil was a Vice President at Optus working across finance, sales and marketing. A graduate of the University of Cambridge, outside of work he is a board member of Poetry in Action, a touring theatre company focused on increasing literacy levels in children.

With a a BSc in Computer Applications from Dublin City University, Stephen brings 10+ years of technology leadership experience across the US, Australia and Ireland. Before joining My Emergency Doctor, he was Head Of Technology for Ashurst Digital Ventures, with responsibility for this global law firm's technology strategy.
Stephen also previously worked for Oneview Healthcare, a patient engagement vendor, as part of their global leadership team. In this role, he was the tech lead for the project that won the Microsoft Health Innovation Award for 2018.

Dr Heather Knox is a medical graduate from Sydney University, working at Concord, Auburn and Taree hospitals before completing her FRACGP. She has since worked in General Practice in Metropolitan Sydney for over 20 years. Dr Knox enjoys teaching GP Registrars, JMOs at Macquarie University Hospital and medical students from Macquarie University. She also participates in regulatory work with the Professionals Services Review and NSW Medical Council.

Clinical Professor Bezzina is an Emergency Physician with extensive experience within Australia across a range of Emergency Departments from small, rural to large regional; and in a range of roles clinically and administratively. He has also worked and taught across a spectrum from small Pacific Islands to large tertiary Emergency Departments in Australia, Canada and Ireland. Clinical Professor Bezzina is a past Chair of NSW Faculty for Australasian College for Emergency Medicine and Councillor on the ACEM Council of Advocacy Practice and Partnerships.

Dr Joseph is the current Co-Director of Trauma and senior Staff Specialist in the Emergency Department at Royal North Shore Hospital. He is also a Clinical Associate Professor at the Sydney Medical School, University of Sydney where he graduated in Medicine. He is a past –President and co-founder of the Australasian Trauma Society. He has held numerous positions as Chair and member of committees for the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine and was a member of the ACEM Court of Examiners for over 15 years. He teaches medical students, trainees in Emergency Medicine and senior doctors in trauma-related courses.
Dr Joseph is an author or co-author on 40 publications published in peer-reviewed journals and has authored 8 chapters in medical textbooks. His research and teaching interests include emergency ultrasound, trauma radiology, mental health issues after trauma and trauma in the older person.
He is currently a reviewer for articles submitted to the Injury, Emergency Medicine Australasia, and the European Journal of Emergency Medicine journals.He has been an invited speaker at over 60 national and international meetings on a variety of subjects including emergency medicine, emergency ultrasound and trauma-related topics.

Robert has over 50 years leadership experience in healthcare with successful careers in the Public Sector including NSW Health Department and St Vincents & Private Healthcare organisations including Hospital Corporation Australia & a number of successful companies which Robert founded, grew to significant scale in Australia & internationally and sold including: Archon Health Consultants, I-Med, Everlight Radiology and Regional Radiology Group.

Paul graduated from Sydney University with degrees in Economics and Law. He began his legal training with Hunt & Hunt (Sydney) before moving to Hong Kong where he worked with Baker & McKenzie for over 5 years. Paul then worked in various in-house roles including many as regional counsel/ compliance counsel. Paul’s core areas of experience are general corporate law, IT law as well as startups. Paul has been working with My Emergency Dr since January 2016.

John Studdert is an advisor and investor in My Emergency Doctor.
John brings experience having founded, built and sold an award winning, highly profitable consultancy that grew to have an international footprint. After moving on from the consultancy firm, John went on to run Australia’s largest and most awarded Public Relations firm as CEO and then Chairman.
Now an angel investor, advisor and director of a number of privately owned companies John brings a skill set valuable in helping start, build and exit early stage companies. John’s formal qualifications include a Bachelor of Education (University of Sydney) and a Master of Business Administration (Macquarie University).
